Former Congressman Jerry Lewis of Redlands will not be prosecuted after initially being charged with felony spousal battery, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office said.

Lewis, 86, was arrested on Nov. 15 after Redlands police were called to a report of domestic violence at a home on Sunset Drive. No medical treatment was required, the Police Department said.

Lewis was booked into Central Detention Center and was released after posting bail.

Lewis was charged on Nov. 19. Lewis and wife Arlene, in subsequent interviews, brushed off the incident.
