San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos takes the brunt of yet another negative political mailer calling into question his mismanagement of his agency.
The 12 x 14 inch card definitely has much to say.
The Business Leaders for Fair and Ethical Government PAC has been drilling Ramos over his diversion of line prosecutors from general prosecution to “new special units” that are announced in press releases, or press conferences, designed to garner positive media coverage for the four-term district attorney. The result has been a large drop-off in criminal case filings at a time when violent crime is skyrocketing!
In a new mailer, Ramos calls the assertion a lie!
I guess the statistical databases at the California Department of Justice and the Administrative Office of the Courts, referenced as the source on the mailer, are somehow rigged against Ramos.
Election Day is June 5th. That’s 21 days from now!
Ramos’ challenger is Attorney/Law Professor Jason Anderson, a former 17-year veteran prosecutor with San Bernardino County.

What it fails to mention is that violent crime in 32 of the 58 California counties saw increased in violent crime. The onceeases are all above 20 percent. Must be a lot of bad DA’s in the state, or maybe (just maybe) the cause has nothing to do with the DA and is an epidemic in the state.
Ramos filed 14 percent feeer felony cases because there are fewer mainstream felonies to file. Thanks to legislation, drug possession, burglary, theft, forgery l, and identity theft are now mostly classified as misdemeanors. Of course there are less felonies filed. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
I have seen Ramos arrive at locations many times without “armed” officers driving him.
And as to his re-assignment if prosecutors- we’ll when you get elected as DA you can make the decision on what is important in the name of public safety and where priorities are.
Another baseless hit piece that distorts the reality of what is occurring in the county. Waste your money away. People can read between the BS.
Please grow up!
Oh, and learn to write…
James mills:
If you really want to see a “hit piece that distorts the reality of what is occurring”, check out the one Mike Ramos just sent out.
I particularly like the line that says “Don’t believe the lies from the developer that wants $250 million of your taxes.” I’m not sure its possible to distort reality any more than that.
I don’t see a James mills on Ramos’s Facebook page making any comments. Haven’t seen a Joe Henry either. Some can only be brave in the most secure settings.
The “Stop Ramos” signs that I saw need the red “Stop” bordered in white to show up better. Driving by the signs, the dark red and deep blue color blend too easily for the eye to differentiate quickly. Just an observation.
