It’s never pleasant to take an endorsement away from any politician or candidate for office. I know because years ago I had to do it.
In my case it was former County Supervisor Jerry Eaves at the time.
This year that experience has fallen upon embattled incumbent San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos.
It started a few weeks ago and the list is growing.
InlandPolitics has learned that the following officials have either declined to give or pulled their endorsement for Ramos’ re-election:
- Retired U.S. Congressman Gary Miller
- State Senator Mike Morrell
- Assemblyman Marc Steinorth
- Assemblyman Chad Mayes
- County Supervisor Curt Hagman
- Ontario Mayor Paul Leon
- Rancho Cucamonga Mayor L. Dennis Michael
- Upland Mayor Debbie Stone
- Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren
Plus most West Valley city council members.
Expect this list to grow in the coming weeks!

Chad Mayes and Curt Hagman are still listed on Ramos’ website though…are you sure?
Yes.
That needs to be in a mailer.

#4 looks like a long list of idiots. I bet most of them are corrupt as Ramos.
No. 6
Yes, Mills is the dim bulb on the tree. Always has been.
But then again. Where would we get the entertainment.
The above list of District Attorney’s who are endorsing Mike Ramos include those from some obscure California counties like Amador and Tuolumne. I wonder if they even know how the “most appalling corruption case in decades, certainly in the history of San Bernardino County and maybe California itself” turned out.
And then there is the critical endorsement from the District Attorney of Onondaga county. For those interested in facts, that’s a county in upstate New York.
I place greater weight on Mr. Anderson’s endorsement from “Retired San Bernardino District Attorney Dennis Stout” than all Mike Ramos District Attorney endorsements combined.
I was on the fence with voting for Janice Rutherford, as I believe she has actually made an attempt to serve her constituents in the mountain communities. However, if she is really endorsing Mike Ramos, I’m voting for her opponent.
Also, I see that Josie Gonzales is not on the list of San Bernardino County Supervisors who endorsed Mr. Ramos. Perhaps she didn’t like being played by Mr. Ramos, and looking like an absolute fool in the courtroom?
Noticed Josie conspicuously absent…hmmmmmm as well as Kamela and Jerry and Melissa and list goes on
Mills thank you for compiling list of Mikey’s endorsement as I now have a one stop place to look for people who will NEVER receive one more dime from me of support as well as the candidates that they are endorsing!!!!
Here is a real simple one for James mills.
Tell us James why we don’t see the current Chief of Ontario PD endorsing Mike Ramos?
How come Ruth Stringer or Doreen Boxer didn’t endorse Mikey? Where is retired Assistant DA Hackman?
Well Kenny most likely because the current Chief was just sworn in a short time ago. Unless you know something that nobody else does, I would assume as a new police Chief, he don’t want to get involved in a political circus. Or maybe, just maybe, the endorsement from the Ontario Police Officer Association comprised of over 300 law enforcement individuals which he leads is sufficient.
Anonymous #13:
Retired Assistant DA Hackleman is listed in James mills list under the “JUSTICE COMMUNITY” heading.
A couple of comments on the “COMMUNITY MEMBERS” listed:
1)If the “Christopher Lee” that is listed is the San Bernardino County “spokesman” who covers for Mike Ramos abysmal failure in The Colonies prosecution by claiming that it would be inappropriate to comment on a case that is still active, that endorsement is a complete joke.
2) There are six (6) representatives of “Mitsubishi Cement” listed. If Jason Anderson started listing all the representatives of each company that is supporting him, he could create a long list too.
Could be just what you said James.
Could be he didn’t want to get involved because he’s new and because his bosses don’t support Ramos? We know Chiefs of Police can be gone in the blink of an eye.
I’d like to have the Ontario POA President explain how they aren’t concerned Ramos has fabricated evidence against innocent cops in some of his prosecutions.
It’s real confusing these Safety Unions who support corrupt DA’s but promote the “thin blue line”.
Now you take Sheriff Stan Sniff from Riverside County is up for re-election he’s under serious fire and a Lieutenant is running against him.
Four major Safety Unions are supporting the Lieutenant for Sheriff.
Guess many don’t pay attention.
An endorsement from the San Bernardino Public Attorneys Union is highly suspect, since there’s a circulating petition requesting that they take back the endorsement.
I have not heard Anderson say word one on how he plans to eliminate corruption in the office, improve morale, increase crime prevention or prosecutions. But I get the distinct feeling that someone has a well placed hand up his ____ after failing to get other candidates to challenge the sexual deviant.
Would like to see someone win that will do well for the people, not just behold to their benefactor.
