It’s been tough sledding on the money front for San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos in his bid for a fifth term in office.
Official filings with the Registrar of Voters on Thursday show that Ramos raised just $29,043.36 since January 1.
That’s stunning for an incumbent like Ramos, who’s been pandering to voters in the media for years.
Ramos, who only has $59,822 in remaining cash on hand, has been pleading with local business owners and defense attorneys to help him raise money. However those calls have fallen on deaf ears.
The four-term incumbent’s opponent, Attorney/Law Professor Jason Anderson, who was a formally a Deputy District Attorney in Ramos’ office for seventeen years, raised $140,716 in the same period.
Anderson currently has $93,264 in cash on hand.

Don’t need a lot of money if you know you are going to win! Why ask people to donate unless you know you need it. You heard it here first.
I guess all of Ramos’ begging is for show. You’re an idiot!
You heard it here first!
More mills expertise? LMAO.
Anderson may want to consider hiring mills, Chris and Volger?
No he should hire Holts who knows everything.
#5 are you jealous?
Of what?
#7 Duh.
That’s a really insightful response…a real genius
Very interesting to take a look at Mr. Andrrson’s Facebook page for his DA candidacy. He is being slammed with questions from the people and he fails to respond on nearly every question or says he will respond later. He certainly is pissing people off by not simply answering questions. Hell he won’t even declare if he is a democrat or republican. I would really consider stop donating money to his campaign fund. It won’t help.

James mills:
I looked at Mr. Andersons Facebook page, and as I expected your interpretation of it is one sided and biased, suggesting that Joe Nelson helped you write Comment #10.
Some of the comments are quite interesting. I particularly like the one from the person who claims that Mr. Anderson is “one of the ADA’s” involved in his current unwarranted prosecution for a 2016 DUI, to which Mr. Anderson responds that he left the DA’s office in 2014, and wouldn’t be involved in that type of prosecution even if he was still there.
Some other “questions” come from equally sophisticated types, suggesting a concerted effort from the Mike Ramos cheerleaders who flourished during the Colonies prosecution, at least prior to the rulings.
As to Mr. Anderson’s alleged refusal to “declare” if he is a Democrat or a Republican, I don’t care if he is a Democrat, a Republican, or a Peace and Freedom or Green Party member. I want a District Attorney who will objectively apply law to fact across party lines, and avoid politically motivated selective prosecutions. Those attributes have been conspicuously absent in the San Bernardino County DA’s office for many years.
I guess Mike Ramos has the option of calling for a debate and taking Jason Anderson behind the wood shed and schooling him in a public forum on the ways of a real District Attorney?
Al Volger can be in the audience with questions in hand on his concerns about campaign donations.
Chris can ask Anderson when he’ll put out more signs.
I bet we can get a lot accomplished with a public debate.
I mean Mikey has kicked more butt than most, should be a walk in the park for him.
SEBA can host the debate.
Observer of the Farce,
My interpretation is factually based. He answered one or two questions. The rest were met with either no response, I’ll get back to you, or I will private message you.
And it’s mighty kind of you to not care what party the candidate is. But, I think people have the right to ask and get an answer. Don’t you?
Real tough question to answer by saying “I wasn’t there so it wasn’t me.” Hell some people just asked him what platform is he running on and some significant issues plaguing the state to be shunned. Is this a man that won’t take time to answer a few question you want as DA? Maybe but I can assure you he ain’t winning but shutting out constituents. You heard it here first.
@13
District Attorney is a non-partisan office. But I believe Mr. Anderson is a Republican.
James mills:
You need to be more careful; several years ago, a Mike Ramos cheerleader referred to me as “Observer of the Farce.” If he is elected, Mr. Alexander might launch a selective prosecution against you for plagiarism. (Not really; if elected I expect that he will fight real crime on an unbiased and objective basis.)
And I don’t believe that Mr. Alexander’s not responding to a few Facebook comments is “shutting out constituents” or “pissing people off.”
Conversely, here are some examples of Mike Ramos conduct that is “pissing [me] off:”
1) Mr. Ramos won’t divulge how much money he wasted on The Colonies prosecution based on a theory that he doesn’t keep track of the money his department spends.
2) Mr. Ramos is refusing to discuss or explain his abysmal courtroom performance in The Colonies prosecution based on a theory that the case is still active, even though the trial ended over 6 months ago.
3) More recently, as discussed in the latest issue of The Sentinel, Mr. Ramos hasn’t responded to questions regarding his allegedly “Pressuring Attorneys’ Union President To Use PAC Money To Attack Opponent.” If he didn’t do so, using your language that “I wasn’t there so it wasn’t me” wouldn’t be “real tough.”
Farce,
Nice job deflecting the facts. I guess if you can’t address the actual facts, it’s okay to deflect. Regardless the number of actual constituents following the page is less than 900 and my guess he has lost several of them based on his inability to communicate with them. I mean it’s kind of useless to open a platform to reach out to voters and then refuse to answer some pretty basic questions. It shows that if elected what kind of outreach he would have with the Public. I guess he is too busy to have dialogue with those he is asking to vote for him.
You heard it here first. Have a blessed day sir.
James mills:
I thought I did “address the actual facts,” but here is my response once again: I don’t believe that Mr. Alexander’s not responding to a few Facebook comments is “shutting out constituents” or “pissing people off.”
Speaking of Facebook, here is a comment I found on the Mike Ramos Facebook page:
“This guy is the worst he does not give a damn about victims and should be voted out.”
Mr. Ramos did not respond to that comment, so under your interpretation of the “actual facts,” I guess that he is “pissing people off” and “shutting out constituents.”
His Facebook page also includes over thirty (30) favorable comments in the past 14 days from “Tona Miranda,” not exactly a broad representation of support.
It also includes several comments in support from “Gretchen Irey Ramos.” Given what Mr. Ramos has put her through, I am dumfounded that she would go on the record as supporting him. But that is her right, just as it’s my right to consider him an absolute disgrace to the profession.
Farce,
Are you really that dumb? Not responding to comments is completely different to not responding to actual questions about one’s candidacy for public office. I guess you can’t fix stupid.
The Facts are that Ramos is a pathological liar, a womanizer and sexual harasser, and has prosecuted innocents with full knowledge.
He promoted his unqualified girlfriend. Banged the former Public Defender, almost publicly, and is an embarrassment to all true men with the perverted ways he treats women.
If he were Gay, he would BE Bill Postmus!
On James you yourself didn’t respond to direct questions from me and others when you were defending Ramos during the thousands of comments on this very blog regarding the Colonies. when things got heated up, SO PLEASE.
You would make a salacious comment, then disappear in many cases only to pop up when you thought you found a cherry to pick.
I’ve looked at both Ramos’s and Anderson’s Facebook page.
As always we see supporters and trolls on both pages doing what some do best.
I also see what Observer of Facts sees and I too had to laugh seeing Gretchen Ramos showing her support for hubby.
That alone is hilarious. And many Ramos supporters most likely don’t even know the stories that surround that drama. Such is life.
Now to your credit Anderson has not responded to every question asked of him. I also see why he and even Mike Ramos wouldn’t respond it’s obvious it will simply start a frenzy because one person asked a question and then here comes the EXPERTS to answer the question or make their own political statement.
I don’t think Ramos or Anderson have the time to watch Facebook 24/7.
Should they have a responsible knowledgeable person handling it? YES.
So AGAIN James you believe you have found a GOLDEN NUGGET with Anderson.
When you use the term “pissing people off” i think that term is better directed at Mike Ramos.
Remember YOU said Ramos will win handily so why waste the bandwidth on stupid shit???
