The San Bernardino Valley’s public busing service, Omnitrans, violated multiple federal guidelines in awarding contracts for its sbX Rapid Transit Bus line, including one no-bid contract worth $15 million and another that included a 15 percent markup on all change orders, according to a Federal Transit Administration audit.

The Sun: Federal agency critical of Omnitrans over sBX project

A Federal Transit Administration audit, conducted in April on western San Bernardino County’s public transportation system Omnitrans, turned up 22 deficiencies, 19 of which pertained specifically to the agency’s $192 million sBX Rapid Transit project, The Sun has learned.
