With the June 7 primary election approaching, the county Republican Party chairman is highly critical of the office, which saw a delay in the mailing of sample ballots.

It’s been a rough month for the Riverside County Registrar of Voters as the office prepares for California’s June 7 primary.

Late last week, the office, led by Registrar Rebecca Spencer, said a “large group” of missing sample ballot books were recovered from the warehouse of a longtime vendor who missed a contractual mailing deadline. The registrar summoned police to help remove the sample ballots, according to a news release.
