Koren refers to the San Bernardino County Safety Employees Benefit Associaton.

Defense attorneys representing a defendant targeted by San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos and California Attorney General Kamala Harris are issuing a wave of subpoenas today to witnesses who will be expected to testify at an April 25th preliminary hearing on their knowledge of the 2006 Colonies Civil Case settlement that saved county taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

Pomierski and his business partner now public, many county residents are absolutely stunned to see the alleged criminal activity apparently undertaken by senior elected public servants in Upland, the community known as the City of Gracious Living. Although this blog highlighted Pomierski’s graft as early as last June, many – including Pomierski’s allies on the Upland City Council – refused to believe the accusations against J.P., the self-proclaimed “King of Upland.’

The work of California’s Citizen redistricting Commission just cleared a major hurdle as the United States Department Of Justice issued a “pre-clearance” allowing the body to proceed with its work. The commission is entrusted with the task of re-drawing Calfiornia’s state legislative and federal Congressional districts this year, for use in the next ten years.

It was exactly one year ago that San Bernardino County residents heard the news that a former board of supervisors chairman and an ex-top county official were charged in a wide-ranging conspiracy surrounding the 3-2 board of supervisors decision to settle a long-standing lawsuit stemming from a dispute over flood control easements surrounding the construction of the Colonies Crossroads shopping center and housing development in north Upland.
