Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton.

Saturday, October 29, 2016 – 11:00 a.m.

No one ever expected the October surprise in this presidential campaign season to arrive courtesy of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Friday’s news that the FBI has reopened its investigation into the Hillary Clinton email scandal sent main stream, pro-Clinton news outlets into a tizz.

According to democrats, FBI Director James Comey, who was an upstanding official when back in June shut down the investigation of Clinton, was now Satan.

The crux of Friday’s news is essentially that the FBI, in its investigation of disgraced former-Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-New York), husband of Clinton right-hand, Huma Abedin, discovered new emails on multiple electronic devices seized from the Weiner-Abedin household.

Those emails apparently raised significant issues within the bureau for Comey to pen a letter to both GOP and Democrat committee leaders in Congress.

One of those committees is the U.S. House Intelligence Committee. That notification gives rise that national security issues are likely contained within the emails cache, which is purportedly in the tens of thousands.

Clinton’s tenuous lead in the polls was already eroding prior to the disclosure.

In the ABC News/Washington Post Tracking Poll, Clinton has lost 10-points in one week. Not that I really hold much faith in any poll conducted by the three main networks.

But for ABC News to show a collapse of Clinton’s lead is telling.

Remember. Most of these inflated polls are just that. They’re inflated.

This assertion is primarily because they, the pollsters at the behest of their employers, assume that democrat turnout will equate that of Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, which was off the charts.

Clinton, with all of her issues, and those of her husband, will not garner such enthusiasm.

Democrat registration is about 3.5-points more than the GOP, while independents are an increasingly larger block of the electorate. So when polls start over-sampling democrats by 7 to 12 points, it skews the poll data.
