When it comes to Gary Jeandron the political candidate, many people have described him and his campaign as lacking credibility and a real pathway to victory.
It is wholly unrealistic to think that a candidate with only $10,000 cash on hand can actually unseat an incumbent who has more than $500,000 in the bank and another seven figures in reserves that will come in the form of independent expenditures. A challenger doesn’t have to match the incumbent dollar for dollar, but you need to at least be able to put gas in your car or at least hire a real campaign manager.
That brings me to Michael Santa Cruz, Jeandron’s campaign manager. I couldn’t pick the guy out of a lineup if my life depended upon it — but I know how to spot stupid.
Now, I am going to assume Santa Cruz isn’t a liar and merely incompetent, but I will leave it to you all to draw your own conclusions.
Earlier today, I posted a piece about how Jeandron behaved like a petulant child simply because he did not get the endorsement of the Redlands Tea Party Patriots. He lashed out in the Press Enterprise referring to it as a “fringe” group of activists.
In the course of following some of the social media discussions about that piece I stumbled upon the rantings of Santa Cruz where he called Andrew Kotyuk a liar. Below is a word for word copy of his recent Facebook post:
“This is how twisted and stupid the Kotyuk camp is. Gary has NEVER been in a position to vote for higher taxes before lol he’s never been in office.”
Here is a screenshot so you can see with your own eyes.
Now, I can only assume that Jeandron has lost so many elections that even his own campaign manager cannot recall the one time that he did win. But the fact of the matter is…Jeandron was elected to the Palm Springs Unified School District.
Maybe…because Jeandron quit the only office he ever won mid-way through the term after he voted for a school bond measure and after he had completed his work on the Clinton Foundation health initiative, Santa Cruz is drawing a blank.
The fact of the matter is that Jeandron did hold elected office and he did vote for a bond — which everyone knows is a tax increase because property owners have to pay additional taxes to cover the interest on the bond.
But this is the reality of the situation when it comes to Jeandron. He is running an “amateur hour” campaign that can’t even afford to bring literature to a debate with the most hard core activists and he hired a campaign manager that doesn’t even know the basic information about the candidate he is trying to get elected.
If Santa Cruz doesn’t even know the facts about his own candidate…how in the hell can you trust anything he says about Kotyuk?
Welcome to the circus! Watch out for the clown car.
