Four candidates who were running to replace Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich threw their support behind his top aide Tuesday.
Kathryn Barger, Antonovich’s chief of staff, garnered endorsements from Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch Englander, state Sen. Bob Huff, Glendale Councilman Ara Najarian, and Altadena Councilman Billy Malone, according to a statement sent by her campaign.
“These endorsements mean a great deal to me as each and every one of them are outstanding public servants with whom I have worked and campaigned,” Barger said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to work together for our community.”
Barger faces entrepreneur Darrell Park in the upcoming November election. Both are hoping to represent the 5th District, which spans more than 2,800 square miles, including the Antelope, Santa Clarita and parts of the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. Antonovich has held the seat for 36 years.
