The Press-Enterprise: RIVERSIDE: City’s deficit looks to grow


Officials project four years of multi-million dollar deficits, but say with suggested reductions the city would come out ahead by 2017-18.

Riverside faces at least four years of belt-tightening, but proposed across-the-board budget cuts would leave the city with a more than $9 million surplus by 2021.

Starting Tuesday, May 31, early voting for the June 7 primary will be available at the Ontario Conference Center and at Victorville City Hall.

With California’s June 7 primary approaching, the San Bernardino County elections office is opening early voting locations Tuesday, May 31 at the Ontario Conference Center, 1947 E. Convention Center Way and Victorville City Hall, 14343 Civic Drive.

With the June 7 primary election approaching, the county Republican Party chairman is highly critical of the office, which saw a delay in the mailing of sample ballots.

It’s been a rough month for the Riverside County Registrar of Voters as the office prepares for California’s June 7 primary.

Late last week, the office, led by Registrar Rebecca Spencer, said a “large group” of missing sample ballot books were recovered from the warehouse of a longtime vendor who missed a contractual mailing deadline. The registrar summoned police to help remove the sample ballots, according to a news release.
