Roughly 9,000 members and beneficiaries of the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association have experienced a delay in receiving their April benefit payments due to a clerical error, the organization’s spokesman said Friday.
The organization posted an announcement on its website Friday informing members that direct deposit files were sent to banks and credit unions on Wednesday, but due to a file date of April 30 on those files, some members had not yet received their April payments.
“We are working diligently to resolve this issue. Every effort is being made to ensure that benefits payments are credited by the end of April, or as soon as possible thereafter,” the announcement said. “You may wish to contact your bank to see if payment will be posted before the end of the month.”
Members were instructed in the announcement to contact SBCERA directly if they do not receive their payments on or by Monday.
