Another GOP presidential primary debate is on tap for Thursday night.
This time the field on stage is down to its lowest number to date.
Seven candidates will take the stage tonight in the South Carolina GOP Debate hosted by Fox Business Network.
Once again, Neil Cavuto and Maria Bartiromo will be moderating. The two did an excellent job last time.
The kids table debate has only three candidates.
On the early card will be Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum.
The main event, which starts at 6 p.m. Pacific Time, will consist of Front-runner Donald Trump, Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, Retired Pediatric Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Ohio Governor John Kasich.
As Trump continues to glide in the polls, even chipping away at Cruz in Iowa to bring that contest within the margin of error, one can expect a brawl for second and third place.
Even Bush has shown a pulse in the Reuters Rolling 5-Day Tracking at 10.6%, placing him at third in that constantly shifting poll. So expect Jeb to come out in force as well.
The early debate will be a non-event. Expect this format to go away in short order.
If the GOP establishment continues to imply that blue collar workers are stupid and misguided, they can expect their remaining favorites to slide out of the running.
