The San Bernardino County Sheriff pay scandal that resulted in a fifteen-count grand jury indictment charging seven current and former employees, with falsification of training and pay records to defraud taxpayers, has met a final conclusion.
A recheck of San Bernardino County Court Dockets reveals that the last remaining defendant in the case, Retired Captain Hobart Gray, had his conviction set aside and probation terminated back on December 23, 2014, just two days before Christmas.
Of the original seven case defendants, three were outright dismissed in the interest of justice. The remaining four, who were each convicted, have since had there conviction set aside, and record expunged.
The San Bernardino County District Attorney, who charged the defendants with Grand Theft, Conspiracy and Perjury, agreed to each disposition.
What an amazing waste of taxpayer money.
