A San Bernardino Civil Jury, on Monday, awarded a multimillion dollar judgement to a former Fontana Unified School District employee, who alleged she was raped by a School Police Officer.
The female, Amanda Vandervoort, claimed that then School Police Officer John Frank Garcia, raped her in a portable classroom that housed his office.
Now a Jury has sided with Vandervoort, awarding her $1.5 million in compensatory damages, and another $5 million in punitive damages was stipulated to between the parties.
Her case was referred to the San Bernardino County District Attorney, but no charges were ever filed.
In addition to Vandervoort, three other women have come forward with their own civil actions against the district. Like Vandervoort, no criminal charges were ever filed in those instances either.
