The Boards of Supervisors for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties have selected new leadership to start off the new year.
In Riverside County, Supervisor Marion Ashley will return to the Chairman role and Supervisor John Benoit will serve as Vice Chairman.
San Bernardino County has tapped Supervisor James Ramos as its Chair, while Supervisor Robert Lovingood will serve as Vice Chair.
But unlike Riverside County, the San Bernardino County positions serve as figureheads in name only. Actually the entire governing body pretty much serve in seemingly meaningless positions
A few years back the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors relegated itself to the basement, when they ceded pretty much all of their authority to the chief executive position. Since then, the county has been operating in fulfillment of a so-called “Vision Plan”. When we figure out what that plan is, we’ll let readers know.
So far, all that’s come out of the “Vision Plan” is a new logo.
