Rancho Cucamonga Mayor L. Dennis Michael has became the first vice president of the League of California Cities for the next year.
“I am honored to serve as the first vice president of the League of California Cities. With the Legislature recently sworn in to office, we have an opportunity to invest in strong relationships with both newly elected legislators and those who have been re-elected. As part of the League’s leadership I will be working closely with city officials throughout California in helping shape statewide policies affecting core local government issues,” said Michael.
Upon retirement as fire chief, Michael won his seat on the City Council in November 2004, then elected mayor in 2010 and re-elected in November.
Michael has served on the League of California Cities board of directors since 2010 and is the past president of the League’s Inland Empire Division.
