COLTON >> After the departure of its finance director and manager, the city has hired a much-needed director who is expected to start next week.
Georgiana “Anita” Agramonte is scheduled to begin as Colton’s finance director Monday. She will fill the vacancy left by former finance director Bonnie Johnson, which was followed by the departure earlier this month of finance manager Jessica Hurst, who started as Hemet’s deputy city manager on Sept. 2.
The hire comes at a challenging financial time, when Colton City Council members asked for a forensic audit of the city’s books, after it came to light that the city failed to reconcile its accounts receivables with its actual deposits since 2003.
Agramonte has 14 years of government finance experience, having worked as finance manager in Rialto since 2012, preceded by finance jobs with the cities of Los Alamitos, for two years, and Glendora, from 2000 to 2010.
