Official unemployment rate falls in June

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 288,000 jobs were added in June. The number dropped the official unemployment rate (U-3) to 6.1%

The broader underemployment rate (U-6) is now at 12.1%.

54,000 of the jobs were in government.

Moreno Valley drops lawsuit

The city of Moreno Valley has dropped a long-running land-use lawsuit against March Joint Powers Authority JPA.

The recall ouster of Mayor Tom Ownings paved the way for the dismissal.

Olsen next Assembly Republican Leader

Kristin Olsen (R-Modesto) has been tapped to be the next California Assembly Republican Leader.

Olsen will replace Connie Conaway (R-Tulare), who is termed-out.

Obama poll numbers continue to crash

Approval poll numbers for President Barack Obama continue to crash across-the-board this week.

Polls by Quinnipiac University, USA Today/Gallup and Zogby indicate that most people feel the Presidnet can’t effectively lead the country.

But then again, does he really care? The answer is “No”.
