SAN BERNARDINO >> Nine candidates have already pulled papers to run in the February election for the City Council seat that was held by Councilman Chas Kelley until he resigned last month.
The deadline to turn in nomination papers is 5 p.m. Friday.
The Feb. 4 election in the 5th Ward will be held alongside a run-off for mayor — and a run-off in the 4th Ward — and will not include a run-off, so whichever candidate receives the most votes will be sworn in March 3.
Hanna asked for candidates to make appointments to receive their nomination papers and work out any potential issues.
