The week he began work as a Harvard University fellow and was hired as a consultant for Edelman public relations, former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Friday was named a part-time professor at the USC Price School of Public Policy.
In the position, which was effective last Monday, Villaraigosa will work on “innovative, large-scale approaches” to public policy in the state, officials said.
In his final days as mayor, Villaraigosa, a graduate of UCLA, said he wanted to explore issues related to ending some of the partisan gridlock that has gripped Sacramento and Washington, D.C.
Jack H. Knott, dean of the Price School, said it was Villaraigosa’s track record in dealing with a myriad of issues, everything from unions and transportation to infrastructure and public safety.
