An eighth woman alleging that Mayor Bob Filner made unwelcomed sexual advances toward her came forward Tuesday evening, telling KPBS that Filner in 2011 grabbed her hand and gave her a “saliva-filled kiss” after a business meeting.
Lisa Curtin, director of government and military education at San Diego City College, said that she met with Filner, who was then a congressman, to discuss use of property near the Naval Training Center. After asking to meet with her in private, Filner grabbed her wedding band and asked if it was real. She replied that she had been married around 25 years.
“He then asked me if it could come off while I was in D.C. and if I would go out with him. I said I really didn’t think so,” she said. “At that point, he pulled my hand closer to him and he reached over to kiss me.
“I turned my head at that moment and on the side of my face, I got a very wet, saliva-filled kiss, including feeling his tongue on my cheek,” she said.
Curtin said she told college staff members about the incident after the meeting and told them she never wanted to meet alone with Filner again.
