Here’s some news flowing across the transom Monday Morning.

California Gas Tax now highest in U.S.

Keeping on a course of raising taxes as high as possible, California now has the highest excise tax on gasoline.

It’s 39.5 cents per gallon effective today. An increase of 3.5 cents.

California residents are on course to become the highest-taxed in the nation.

Goodbye Villaraigosa, Hello Garcetti

Antonio Villaraigosa has departed as the mayor of Los Angeles. Mayor Eric Garcetti takes over today.

The big question! Will we miss all that entertainment, courtesy of Villaraigosa?

U.S. surveillance now has European Union upset

Yes, it’s the European’s this time!

The European Union (EU) has found out they have been targets of U.S. National Security Agency spying. Well, it’s not like these countries don’t spy on each other, in the normal course of affairs.

Maybe we should just all assume we’re getting monitored all the time, unless we’re told were not.

Then we’ll be monitored anew.

Airport group blows its seed money

The newly-formed Ontario Airport Alliance needs money.

The group, which was created to aid in wrestling control of LA/Ontario International Airport from Los Angeles World Airports, was staked with $50,000 in seed money to get things started.

That money is apparently already gone.

Was blowing money on a booth, at the State of the (San Bernardino) County dog and pony show, really a wise investment?
