One has to keep scratching their head over some of the decisions being made in San Bernardino government circles.
Last Monday, the San Bernardino City Council voted to renew, for one-year, its auditing contract with the accounting firm Rogers, Anderson, Malody and Scott (RAMS).
The very same firm that has audited the books of the city, and the San Bernardino International Airport Authority (SBIAA), for years. The very same firm that never sounded any alarm as to the solvency of both entities.
San Bernardino has filed for chapter 9 bankruptcy, while SBIAA is the focus of seveal investigations surrounding the expenditure of hundred of millions of dollars in public funds, and operates primarily from funds transferred from the Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA).
San Bernardino says it’ll look for a new firm for next years audit.
To the best of our knowledge, not once has RAMS, a small local Inland Empire firm, ever qualified its opinion of the city’s books.
