San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Josie Gonzales has convened a special board meeting regarding a public employee evaluation of the county’s Chief Executive Officer Greg Devereaux.

The meeting, which will be held in closed session, has been in the works for some time, county spokesman David Wert said.

SAN BERNARDINO – City Manager Charles McNeely resigned Thursday, according to City Clerk Georgeann “Gigi” Hanna.

McNeely, who began working in June 2009, will continue until May 1. His contract was scheduled to expire in June.

DailyBulletin: San Antonio Water Co. board is still not set

UPLAND – The City Council has yet to approve the San Antonio Water Co. Board of Directors and its annual stockholders meeting is quickly approaching.

Two San Antonio Heights residents have voiced their concern over the way the slate was chosen and requested their community members pick their representation.

Upland currently names all of the members to the board.

A private investor who recently bought 233 abandoned housing lots in four Victor Valley subdivisions plans to sit on them until the housing market picks up, according to a broker involved in the deal.

Calpensions: CalPERS funding level: How low can it go?

As CalPERS puts a new focus on risk, a funding level that drops to 40 percent is emerging as the red line.

The worry is that if the funding level of the big pension fund drops too far, it may not be practical to raise annual employer payments enough to regain proper funding.
