Rep. Joe Baca, D-San Bernardino, has introduced a bill that would require many video games to be packaged with a warning label.
Similarly to the way tobacco products must carry health warnings, Baca’s bill would mandate the following message be printed on video game packages: “WARNING: Exposure to violent video games has been linked to aggressive behavior.”
“We must hold the video game industry accountable and do everything in our power to ensure parents are aware of the detrimental effects that violent games can have before making decisions on which games are appropriate for their children to play,” Baca said in a statement.
