Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter has filed paperwork to raise money for a possible state Senate candidacy in 2014.
Carter, D-Rialto, has to leave the Assembly next year because of term limits. In December, Carter left the door open to running for future office.
“My conscious plans are to stay home and work with my grandchildren,” she said, adding that she will be interested to see what the region’s Senate districts look like after this year’s redrawing of California’s political map.
State Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod, D-Chino, was just re-elected to the 32nd Senate District, which includes Rialto. Her term expires in 2014.
