Four top San Bernardino County officials began new terms of office Monday.

Sheriff Rod Hoops and Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector Larry Walker marked the occasion with late morning and noon swearing-in ceremonies at the County Government Center.

Assessor Dennis Draeger, who is beginning his first full elected term, took his oath of office at the Registrar of Voters office Wednesday. Draeger said he planned no ceremony.

He was appointed as assessor in July 2009 after former Assessor Bill Postmus resigned while under a criminal investigation.

District Attorney Mike Ramos, who was elected to a third term, also took his oath of office at the registrar’s office last week. He is holding a swearing-in ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

The rotunda at the County Government center was packed with sheriff’s and county officials as Hoops was sworn in. He thanked supporters and praised the department as one “loaded with talent.”
