APPLE VALLEY • The town will say goodbye to two council members, welcome two new ones and select its next mayor at the start of Tuesday’s meeting.

With the town’s top position typically going to the highest vote-getter in the recent election, the mayoral seat is expected to go to returning Councilman Scott Nassif.

Tuesday night will mark the end of Mayor Peter Allan’s first term on the council and the end of Bob Sagona’s third term.

Pharmacist Curt Emick and talkshow host Barbara “Barb” Stanton will take their seats, having received more votes in the Nov. 2 election than the departing incumbents.

More than 62 percent of the town’s 20,782 registered voters weighed in for the mid-term election, according to certified results included in the council agenda. That’s above the countywide turnout of 55 percent and statewide turnout of 59 percent.
