San Bernardino City Attorney Jim Penman donating $500 to District Attorney Mike Ramos’ reelection campaign?

Yes indeed. What a surprise, especially for these two politicos.

Ramos’ latest campaign finance disclosure filed this week shows Penman coughing up the cash.

Penman accepted a free membership at the private Arrowhead Country Club over a period of a few years and was caught failing to disclose and also accepting a gift over the limit allowed by state law.

Ramos, instead of charging Penman, referred the matter to the State of California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).

Penman stipulated to a $5,000 administrative fine last November. The maximum allowed by law.
