I certainly “smell the corruption” in Mike Ramos office, but do not buy into the corrupt judge theory. The prosecution does not get to choose the judge, which makes it difficult to insure that a corrupt judge will hear the case unless every judge is corrupt.

For example, in the Neil Derry prosecution, the case was assigned to Judge Dest, who is clearly not corrupt, and forced the prosecution to dismiss the absurd felony charges.

In The Colonies prosecution, it is inconceivable to me that one businessman successfully corrupted all the judges who have ruled against the county. At last count, that was three (3) Superior Court judges and a panel of three (3) Appellate Court judges. To me, it’s far more likely that the county actually did what they were accused of doing.

BUT Garcia, being “the most intelligent man” Moreno Valley City Hall has ever met, is always one step ahead of the “authorities”- he knew exactly what WEAK MINDS to surround himself with. His obvious scheme was to gain their trust and plant that seed of blind loyalty; it worked!! After all, Garcia is not new to this game of deception and GREED.

Ah, yes, the good old corrupt judge theory. I almost forgot that some people actually believe that one.

The San Bernardino County bureaucrats could not possibly have taken any steps to “avoid assuming financial or any other responsibility for the regional flood control facilities,” so the only possible explanation is that The Colonies bribed the judge to rule against the county.

It’s been a while since we heard from the person who supposedly saw Judge Warner put his arm around Colonies partner Dan Richards during the trial. Perhaps he or she is keeping a low profile so they can be announced by Mike Ramos as a last minute “surprise” witness!

I wonder if Jeff Burum is up in San Francisco playing golf with the Supreme Court Judges?

So nothing is fair when he is the appointed King. SEBA should listen like #1 says and take note. He has history of being against deputies and I hear more cases are being over turned where he tried to burn deputies for nothing but not being in his car. So he is not trustworthy look at history. Ask Josie who runs the sheriff!!

In regards to the “County Supervisors who thought it was worth nothing,” I assume that you are referring to Jon Mikels and Dennis Hansberger. Dennis Hansberger remained defiant even after Judge Warner’s ruling. Jon Mikels was long gone by then, so I have no idea what he thought after the trial.

I’m not sure what the basis is for these County Supervisors opinions, but whatever it was I personally give greater weight to a Superior Court Judges 50 page decision that took place after an 18 day trial where the county was represented by 9 attorneys.

In this decision, Judge Warner ruled that the intent of the county was to “avoid assuming financial or any other responsibility for the regional flood control facilities that it caused to be located” on The Colonies property. On that basis alone, I suspect that he would have held that it worth far more than “nothing” if the damages phase of the trial had proceeded.
