GOP Congressman Darrell Issa will retain his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The news comes as a blow to democrats, who wanted to give Issa the boot.
Currently, Issa leads challenger Doug Applegate by a margin of 51% to 49%.
The numbers sound close. But the raw vote difference is 4,576.
The margin is mathematically-significant enough to keep Issa in office for another two years.
The two men will likely split the remaining uncounted ballots.
