A nearly month-long trial involving alleged workplace retaliation against three current and former San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies has been finally handed to a jury.

Deputies Jeff Wetmore, Brian Moler and retired Sergeant Tim Jordan have presented their case, laying out claims of retaliation for outing a illegal traffic ticket quota system at the Victorville Sheriff’s Station.

After multiple attempts by the agency at character assassination of the plaintiffs, not to mention, testimonial contradictions by management, a jury will now sort out the matter.

Each plaintiff is asking for significant monetary damages against the department.

Like we’ve said before. How this case landed in the hands of a jury is absolutely puzzling, given the county’s long track record of losing civil cases at trial.

Closing arguments were finished Thursday afternoon.

The likely short deliberations will commence Tuesday morning.
