A civil lawsuit filed by current and former deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will advance to trial.

Superior Court Judge Bryan Foster, on Wednesday morning, denied a motion for summary judgement filed by San Bernardino County.

The action was the final effort to end the case for the county.

Foster also denied a motion to dismiss plaintiff Tim Jordan from the lawsuit.

Jordan, a retired sheriff’s sergeant, and the other plaintiffs were assigned to the Victorville Sheriff’s Patrol Station when they were ordered to comply with specific traffic ticket quota demands.

The officer’s allege they were retaliated against after coming forward with complaints to superiors. Ultimately the plaintiff’s received retaliatory transfers to other patrol stations throughout the county.

The lawsuit has spurred other investigations into other activities within the agency.

Expect a settlement in the case before the August trial commences.
