Here’s a few observations on the unfolding abuse scandal in the San Bernardino County Department of Children and Family Services.
To provide background. Here’s a link to coverage by KTTV-LA Fox 11 News: Grand jury report on San Bernardino Department of Children and Family Services
It’s difficult to fathom just how all of this abuse to infants and toddlers, that in many cases resulted in death, went unaddressed for so long.
- Was the coverup really all about shielding the county from liability?
- Was any suspect involved in any of these cases prosecuted? If not. Why?
- Were the abuse cases reviewed by the Child Abuse Review Committee, comprised of social workers, physicians and prosecutors?
- Were these cases referred for prosecution?
- Will anyone be held accountable for this debacle?
- Is there truly an investigation into these cases, or just the agency and its placement practices?
It’s hard to believe that this was all covered up over money and the bad press that would ensue.
Nevertheless. The public deserves to know the outcome of this shenanigan.
Not according to Supervisor Lovingood they don’t (deserve to know that is.)
How long does the CFS director have left? Resign or be fired?
First yes the cover-up was all about money. The county does not want the liability and publicity that exposing this issue would create.
There has not been one person arrested or prosecuted for anything. To get an arrest or prosecution you must first admit that someone did something wrong. That is not going to happen. It is really hard to believe that with all of the pictures that you have seen no one in CFS had any knowledge to how those incidents happened. Makes no sense.
As far as the cases being reviewed goes the agency that heads up the review of these cases is county council assisted by CFS. Another words you have an agency self-policing themselves. The individuals reviewing these cases are the same ones that make the original decision that caused the problem. Did the grand jury address this issue in their report? If they did then I am missing it. Were they aware that this board existed? If not that tells you a lot.
Is there an investigation into these issues? No its smoke and mirrors. As the story says the presiding court judge along with the CEO, Ramos and the CFS director had a meeting. There they came up with there talking points. What are talking points, it’s the PC way of saying “We are now going to blow smoke up your ass”. If there is an investigation on going who the heck are they interviewing? Harris is running for AG and this issue makes her look really good in the eyes of the public. In my opinion if she ever interviews any grand jury member or the whistleblowers she will turn those over to Ramos so he can do what he and the county has always wanted to do. Then and only then will you see arrests made in this issue.
