Donald Trump

Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump capped off a successful week with an excellent acceptance speech, and a political foe cutting his own throat.

Trump’s speech, along with a mildly turbulent convention, was so successful that a CNN (Clinton News Network) post convention poll blew up in the liberal-leaning networks face.

Trump is also pressuring Clinton’s lead in national polling. Not that the national numbers mean much at this point.

The Real Clear Politics average of national polls did have Clinton up 2.7 percent on Thursday. That number now has Clinton up just 1.9 percent on Sunday morning.

The big post-convention losers are the few remaining never Trump idiots.

To refresh everyone’s memory. The list includes Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham (R-South Carolina) and of course William Kristol, publisher of the online publication Weekly Standard.

But we can’t leave out Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Cruz, and his now infamous self-serving non-endorsement prime time speech, which angered most of the delegates as well as former Cruz financial supporters, is the big loser here.

It was classic for billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson to deny Cruz admittance to his VIP-only suite immediately after Cruz smacked Trump and was booed off the convention floor.

Adelson dumped millions into Cruz’s presidential bid. But he now backs Trump.

Now Cruz can go back to the U.S. Senate and pick up his stick in the mud role for the remainder of his one and only term .
