The bad news just keeps piling up for embattled San Bernardino, California.
The city of more than 200,000 residents, attempting to exit from chapter 9 bankruptcy later this year, will break it’s all-time annual murder record.
This week the city recorded it’s 40th homicide victim.
It’s a pace that puts San Bernardino on track to be listed as one of the most dangerous places in the country, not just California.
That’s per capita of course.
But nevertheless, it’s a situation that needs to be dealt with soon, and with drastic measures.
The city has continued to deteriorate into a literal dump over the past ten years. It’s a pattern that shows no signs of reversing course in any way.
All the lip service and wishful thinking aside.
It’s hard to believe that forty years ago the city was designated an All-America City in 1976-77.
