San Bernardino County administrators are set to receive a seven-percent increase in compensation over two years.

Monday, June 13, 2016 – 10:30 a.m.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is set to approve a 2016-17 fiscal year budget on Tuesday, with some important beneficiaries.


Also in line to get a bump in pay is the top county administrators.

A change to the exempt compensation plan is on also on the board’s agenda. The “exempt” classification applies to all of the county’s top management.

The pending revisions provide for a 7-percent cost of living adjustment over two years, initially approved last December. Interestingly, the first pay bump was on January 9, 2016.

The proposed increase come as the county continues to cat and mouse the sheriff’s deputies union over a new collective bargaining.

The plan will see the base salary of Chief Executive Officer rise to $335,046.

The cost-of-living adjustments will occur at the following schedule:

  • 1% – Effective January 9, 2016.
  • 1% – Effective July 23, 2016.
  • 2% – Effective July 22, 2017.
  • 3% – Effective July 21, 2018.

In addition, the executive car allowance, which is also paid to the elected officials, will increase to $1,216.67 per month.
