Hats off to San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood for doubling-down on his fantasy pension crack down spin.
In the swath of one whole week, San Bernardino County’s pension system has went from 84% funded to fully-funded, according to the first-term supervisor.
The “fully-funding” descriptor showed up in a mailer that landed in Needles area voters mailboxes this week.
Lovingood seems to enjoy implying that he’s the one who is solely responsible for ensuring the county pension system is fully-funded.
That’s even though the system is $2 billion in the hole, while the county forked over a record $178.3 million in pension contributions for the 2014-15 fiscal year.
But the actual funding level was 80.98% on June 30, 2015. It’s a number that has fallen even further due to investment losses.
If Lovingood can’t tell the truth about serious matters such as this, then what else is he deceiving voters about?
Well there’s plenty more where this came from…..
