The race for the First District seat on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is heating up as the June Primary approaches.

Four candidates, Paul Russ, Bill Holland, Rick Roelle and Angela Valles are vying to oust first-term incumbent Robert Lovingood.

With Lovingood’s do nothing record it shouldn’t be too hard to knock him out in a high-turnout November runoff.

The big question is who will he face?

All the challengers would appear to be gathering up some campaign cash. But this is more of a name identification advantage contest at this point and all four have name recognition in the High Desert.

Paul Russ and Angela Valles could have an edge here.

Hesperia Mayor Pro-Tem Russ is well-liked in the district, while Valles, a Latina female, has a reputation for taking on perceived corruption. In other words, in San Bernardino County politics, Valles would be known as a pot stirrer.

I’m not knocking the other two gentlemen. But their could be an edge to the aforementioned. But either way Lovingood is most likely toast.

A 400 sample size poll wouldn’t hurt here!
