San Bernardino County’s annual State of the County event is coming today to Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, featuring panel discussions with economists and real estate investors on the prospects for economic growth in the Inland Empire.

The event includes panel discussions on the county’s business climate, followed by a ceremony inside the arena including a video presentation and speech by Board of Supervisors Chairman James Ramos.

“The annual State of the County draws from various industries, giving participants exposure to the variety of fields available to our region,” Ramos said in an email Tuesday. “Every year, we offer a program that aligns with the region’s social and economic climate.”

More than 1,000 people are expected to attend.

A panel discussion with real estate investors and developers from the office, housing, retail and industrial sectors is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. They will discuss what they feel are the greatest real estate opportunities in the county, and how they are utilizing those opportunities for success. A business leader’s roundtable on ways to improve business prosperity in the county is also scheduled.

One area that could be discussed is how the county can diversify its economic growth.
