San Bernardino Seal

Those who have filed claims against the city would receive 1 percent of what they’re owed under the insolvency proposal

The city of San Bernardino hopes that a provision of its bankruptcy-exit plan will erase more than $49 million from the books by allowing it to pay only 1 percent – $500,000 – to its unsecured creditors.

Inland Empire

In December, unemployment in Inland Southern California dropped below 6 percent for the first time since the recession, according to figures released by the state.

For the first time since the recession, the Inland unemployment rate dropped below the 6 percent figure, hitting 5.9 percent for December in the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario area.
