Polls

The second GOP presidential primary debate is over and post-debate polling has been non-stop.

Here’s the latest rundown.

Donald Trump continues ahead of the pack, with a larger percentage of voter preference finally coalescing behind the top six candidates.

In the past five days, Zogby, Morning Consult, Fox News and Bloomberg have released updated polling. Morning consult has by far the largest sampling size, and thus lowest margin of error.

Let’s take them in order.

Zogby has Trump at 33% (+2%), Ben Carson is at 13% (-3%), Jeb Bush 9% (Unchanged) and Carly Fiorina at 7% (+2%).
Morning Consult puts Trump at 32%, Carson at 12%, Bush at 11% and Fiorina at 6%.
Fox News has Trump at 26% (+1%), Carson at 18%, Fiorina and Marco Rubio tied at 9%, Jeb Bush is at 7%, a new low for the former Florida Governor.
And finally, Bloomberg has Trump at 21%, Carson at 16%, Bush 13% and Fiorina at 11%.

The Bloomberg poll has Trump actually dropping in support. Of course this result will bring in declarations from the establishment hacks and experts that Trump is finished. The poll now becomes the anomaly, until it’s confirmed by other polling data.

Interestingly the very same Bloomberg poll says 72% agree with Trump that America has lost its greatness.
