Court Filings

Eleven local governmental bodies, trade groups, labor groups and others have filed amici “friend of the court” support for the Cadiz Valley Water Conservation, Recovery and Storage Project in a remote Mojave Desert section of San Bernardino County.

In 2014, Orange County Superior Court Judge Gail Andler rejected challenges to block the project, but early this year the Center for Biological Diversity and Tetra Technologies appealed these decisions.

The case is now pending before the California Court of Appeal for the Fourth District in Riverside.

The Cadiz Water Project is a public-private partnership, developed by Los Angeles-based Cadiz and the Santa Margarita Water District, to bring San Bernardino groundwater to 400,000 people in Southern California.

“In seeking to delay the project through the appellate process, CBC and Tetra have sought to needlessly defer its many benefits for the Southern California region,” said Scott S. Slater, Cadiz CEO and president.
