Hesperia City Manager Mike Podegracz has resigned, the city announced in a news release Wednesday.
Podegracz, who has served as city manager for a decade, tendered his resignation during a closed session meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, according to the news release.
“I’m proud of what the city of Hesperia has accomplished during my time as city manager,” Podegracz said in a statement. He said his proudest accomplishments included the completion of the Ranchero Road underpass and interchange, opening the door for new retail and dining businesses in the city, and ensuring the financial stability of the city. “I am honored to have been part of the team that shaped Hesperia into the city it is today.”
The Ranchero Road underpass on Seventh Avenue is the first of a three-phase project that entailed the installation of a new crossing under the Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad tracks, city spokeswoman Rachel Molina said.
