EASTVALE >> Plans are moving forward for the city’s largest development.

The Australia-based Goodman Group and its Irvine-based North American subsidiary, Goodman Birtcher, are continuing development on a $350 million, 2.4 million square-foot logistics complex in Eastvale, designed to accommodate office space, light industry, a shopping center, a hospital and a hotel, according to a description on the developer’s website.

The project promises to bring hundreds of new jobs to growing logistics sector in the Inland Empire. The property is within land bordered by Hamner Avenue to the west, the 15 Freeway to the east, Cantu-Galleano Rancho Road to its north, and Bellegrave Avenue on its south.

“It’s the biggest project that the city has approved since we’ve been a city,” said Eric Norris, planning director for the less than 5-year-old city. “It’s a major project since it has the potential for a lot of jobs. We know that the applicant is actually looking at bringing a hospital onto the site, which is very exciting to us.”

City officials expressed excitement over the prospect of thousands of new well-paying jobs in the area.

Norris said that if everything goes well, the project should be completed within the next five years.
