Purchasing Managers Index reading virtually unchanged at 52.4 in June; factory order and production growth holds steady.

The bad news is that San Bernardino County’s jails produce far more inmate complaints alleging excessive use of force by deputies than any other county the Prison Law Office has dealt with, according to that nonprofit that defends the constitutional rights of the incarcerated.

SAN BERNARDINO — The San Bernardino County Grand Jury acknowledged “issues” Wednesday related to the Sheriff’s Department and its seizure of vehicles later sold at lien sales, seemingly giving some credence to whistle-blower allegations that deputies routinely flipped impounded vehicles for personal gain.

Moreno Valley seal

Moreno Valley’s elected leaders may start discussing the project as early as July 15.

Developer Iddo Benzeevi cleared an important hurdle Tuesday night, winning backing from a Moreno Valley panel for his massive World Logistics Center warehouse complex.

But before the first bulldozer starts pushing dirt, the city’s elected leaders will have to sign off on the project that pits the promise of jobs and an economic boost against concerns of traffic and pollution. Most City Council members have received campaign support from Benzeevi, but none will say how they plan to vote.
