SAN BERNARDINO >> The county Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to pay a consultant group up to $5 million over four years to help with development of a “complete county” plan that goes beyond a general plan — in fact, they say, it goes further than any city or county ever has.
Typically, a general plan is a rule book to guide development and growth, but the Countywide Plan will guide all county decision-making, financial planning and communications, said county spokesman David Wert.
That’s distinct from the countywide vision developed by county officials and others — including cities, schools and hospitals in the county — because it’s specifically developed by the county, but will help the county implement that vision, Wert said.
“What makes this revolutionary is it’s all going to be web-based, easily accessible by the public, and the public will be able to dive into all the all the data,” Wert said.
