VICTORVILLE >> An Adelanto middle-school teacher no longer faces child pornography charges, but he pleaded no contest to charges of having adult pornographic images on a school-owned computer.

Prosecutors dropped the possession of child pornography charge against John McGinty, and he was immediately sentenced to 100 days in a work release program and four years probation, McGinty’s attorney David R. Cohn said in a press release.

“There were no images, no videos, no photos, no files, no websites, no search history, no key search terms related to child pornography on any of the devices found in his home,” Cohn said. “That’s a rare occurrence in an alleged child pornography case.”

McGinty has a large interest in adult pornography but has never displayed any interest in child pornography, Cohn added.
