With just 4 days remaining until Election Day, absentee voter turnout in the Inland Empire, and California as a whole, remains pathetic.
The lack of any high profile contest to draw voters out, combined with a discouraged Democrat base, means the situation isn’t likely to change.
In CD-36, Congressman Raul Ruiz may very well be defeated by State Assemblyman Brian Nestande.
In CD-31, Pete Aguilar (D-Redlands), who is facing Paul Chabot (R-Rancho Cucamonga), may end up on the short end once again in his second bid for a seat in the U.S. Congress. Like we’ve said here many times. Aguilar is far from a stellar campaigner. He gives the appearance of someone who wants the seat handed to him on a silver platter.
In CD-41, Mark Takano isn’t in as bad a shape as others. But he remains exposed to a potential upset by woefully-underfunded Councilman Steve Adams (R-Riverside).
All the candidates in these contests have to pray that independent and decline-to-state voters come to their rescue.
On another note: In the 40th State Assembly District, Marc Steinorth (R-Rancho Cucamonga) appears to be headed for an easy victory, even though Democrats made a late entry to help their candidate Kathleen Henry. Steinorth has been flooding mailboxes at a feverish pitch for weeks now. That effort is about to pay off.

Do you know that a persons voting record is public record?
Some website should step up and public a list of all registered voters that voted and all registered voters that did not vote.
You could make a “shame list”.
What do you bet that people will start voting to avoid the shame list?
A perfect example of why more people pick decline to state.
